Yes, I Am A Lazy-Ass

Sorry I haven't updated since Valentine's Day, but to be honest, I haven't really felt like it lately.

Just me being my procrastinating self.

That's OK. It's not like I have the most exciting life ever.

Ganache was here this past weekend, so that was cool. And Brian and Jen got together with us in Milwaukee as well. We had a great time cooking dinner Saturday night. Ganache had brought her Thai sticky rice steamer, so we made that. Brian has a kick-ass recipe for hot and sour soup. And Ganache makes a fantastic chocolate cake.

It's serious cake. The ganache frosting uses 2 cups of cream, half stick of butter and 20 ounces of chocolate. Makes about a quart of ganache. It's awesome, but man is it rich.

So yeah. Other than hanging out with friends, nothing much is going on.

Welcome to my life:

6:30am -- Alarm goes off. I contemplate hitting the snooze button.

6:36am -- I decide to haul my ass out of bed after listening to the news briefs on the radio. I stumble into the bathroom to take a shower and try to wake up.

6:55am -- Shower is over. Time to start the morning ablutions... Contacts in eyes, brush hair, fragrance-ize pits and brush the pearly whites.

7:05am -- Turn on the Weather Channel and get dressed.

7:15am -- Eat breakfast and pack lunch.

7:35am -- Plop in front of the TV to watch local news or VH1's "Jump Start." (They actually play videos!)

7:54am -- Leave for work.

(Note: If I didn't follow this morning schedule, I'd forget to wear pants.)

8:20am -- Park in the parking structure and walk a block to work.

8:25am -- Arrive at office. Turn on computer and begin the day's tasks. (Reading diarys, news and online comics.)

8:30am - 6:00pm -- Work stuff. Nothing to see here. Move along.

(Note: All times between 5:00pm and 7:00pm are approximate due to variability in work departure time.)

6:00pm -- Walk a block back to parking structure, start car and take off for home.

6:20pm -- Arrive at home. Begin foraging for something to eat.

6:30pm -- Eat supper while watching the Food Network.

7:00pm -- Watch Food Network primarily. Other various and sundry channels are mixed in. Sometimes I actually just read a book!

8:00pm -- Talk to Ganache on the phone. Make all kinds of lovey-dovey talk and talk about each other's days. My favorite part of the evening.

10:00pm -- To bed! But not necessarily to sleep. Reading might take place. Also perhaps staring slack-jawed at the TV in my bedroom.

11:00pm -- To sleep! If I go to sleep much later than this, I'm a zombie when we roll around to...

6:30am -- Alarm goes off. I contemplate hitting the snooze button.

Wash, rinse and repeat. Until the weekend. Then all bets are off.

So that's a little look into the daily schedule of Mr. Bitterness. Now granted, that's incredibly simplified, but you get the picture. I do get out on the weekends and I do take vacations from time to time. But for the most part, I have a pretty routine day. And it's probably why I don't update every ding-dong day.

Although I think it's mainly because I'm a lazy-ass. That's gotta be it.

By the way! If you haven't already, you should read the Bad Teen Novel over on Hissyfit. I think many of us have tried to find our inner novelist when we were young. And having located him/her, found them woefully lacking. Thankfully Wing Chun is willing to share her pain with us. And afterwards, you can share in the hilarity and pain on the forum!

Ah, those heady days of youth.

Later.
